Progress Energy board declares quarterly Dividend

RALEIGH, N.C.(Sept. 18, 2009)-- Progress Energy's board of directors today declared a dividend on the company's common stock. The quarterly dividend was declared at 62 cents per share, payable on Nov. 2, 2009, to shareholders of record as of Oct. 12, 2009. This represents a total annual dividend of $2.48 per share.
